Hi, my friend's father passed away yesterday and so he has to urgently go back to India. However, he is also under the process of switching company and is still waiting for the new visa from his new company. So can he travel to India and also if he can, can he get the stamping done on his old H1 visa

His H1 transfer is in process. While returning if his new visa process is still in progress will he be able to return on the previous employer's visa or would he have to wait until new visa gets approved? Also would it affect the process in anyway? -
What is the expiry date on the visa in passport? If visa is valid, as soon as the petition is approved, it can be sent over to India address and your friend can travel on old visa and new petition. But if visa has expired, his new employer would have to send him over the newer approved petition and he can attend interview with new petition.
