  • Passport Expiration, visa stamping-pls help

I am planning to go to H1 visa stamping to Jamica next month. My visa is expiring on Sep 10 2014. But my passport (from India) is expiring on October 17 2014. If I go for stamping, will there be any issue?

No such rule. But its always advisable to have a passport well valid in the future while entering US as the I-94 is generally based on passport expiry date if it is expiring before your visa end date.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

                  Passport Cancelled

                  Hi ,

My wife has a valid US visa (H4) in her passport which is now cancelled (due to name change). She was allowed in United States on Old passport visa, however, when I go for extension, do I still need to give details about her old passport and will she receive her I-797 in her old name ?

                  Please help me on this.

                  Regards,
                  Mayur Chauhan
