Two days ago I traveled to the US on H1B visa for the first time two days ago. At the POE , I was subjected to to some additional scrutiny beyond the immigration desk, but in the end the second officer stamped the entry marker on my passport, and handwrote the visa type (H1B) and the date of validity (end of petition date) on it. However, when I checked on the internet, I found that this i94 is not reflecting even after 48 hours. I can see my travel in the "Recent travel history" tab , but the most recent i94 shows a short business visit done 3 years ago. What could have gone wrong ? Is this normal ?

Yes, it is normal and you can goto any nearby CBP office to update your latest I94.

Thank you kadkhiq81. The nearest CBP office is several hundred miles away, so do they accept queries over phone or maybe mail ?
