Visa for mother

Hi All,
I have applied for H1b visa this year 2014 and wanted to accompany my mother with me. I know that my mother does not come under dependent visa. Kindly let me know how to overcome this. I am married and my wife also have applied for H1b visa.

Unfortunately there is no H4/Dependent visa. The only visa category that your mother can probably apply is the B2 (visitor) visa. Approval of which would depend upon her ties to home country and though it may be granted for 10 Years, but one can at max stay for 6 Months on it at a stretch, and with every visit would attract extra scrutiny.
