Travel while H1 Process (F1 to H1)

Hi Friends

My H1 application is in process, but we didn't apply for change of status as I have F1 OPT Extension Card valid till December 2015.

1. Once my H1 is approved, can I travel on OPT and come back on OPT.
2. Can I travel on OPT even if my H1 application is in process, as we didn't apply for change of status.
