I have got some question regarding H1B stamping and your help will be
    greatly appreciated.

    1. I came to US on F1 student visa and i studied only for one
semester. After completing just one semester of MS my status changed
    from F1 to H1B. I am really confused because i don't know whether i
have to go to India for H1B stamping or can i get it done from canada. My understanding is that generally a person who has completed his Masters degree in US can go to canada for H1B stamping but in my case I have not completed the Masters degree.

    2. If i change my employer say from company A to Company B, do i
again need to go for H1B stamping from India or Canada.

    Thanks,
    Mohit

    Hi Mohit,

I am not in a position to answer your 1st question.

Regarding question 2, if you change your employer from A to B, you do not need to have your H1B visa stamped again (provided u do have a valid H1B visa at that time). Your new employer only needs to initiate the visa transfer procedure.
    Thanks!

For your first question...yes it would be best for you to go to india for H-1B stamping as you have not completed your masters here. If you take the risk of going to canada the probability that you will be directed back to india is very high. At that point you cannot reenter US and will have to go to India from Canada.

Life will be horrible, and also at that point in India they will ask why you went to Canada when you knew you had to go to india.

Best option is to prepare well and go to india.
