I-797 Form support 8 character middle name ?

Hi All,

I got my I-797 form today from my employer. In the form, my middle name is not completed and last 2 character is cut down.

Example : Dilipkumar is actual middle name, but its printed Dilipkum

Does any one also face similar issue ?

Please suggest as earliest basis.

In the U.S., middle names are not given the importance one would expect in other countries.

For immigration purposes, middle names are often truncated on official documents (I-797 forms, Green Cards) because of character limits in the card name fields, and it has no legal effect on recognition of one's name.

Hi all,

i am also facing same issue. Middle name has last letter missing thought my full name length is not even 18. I m worried as it should not create problem in visa stamping.
Please advise
