Hi,
I am a Canadian citizen currently working in the US under an H1B visa for company A. I got a job offer for Company B and we filed for an H1B transfer in September (premium processing, we had one RFE).
On Oct 28, I had my H1B Transfer Approved for Company B. I gave notice to Company A Oct 29 and my last day will be November 28th at Company A.
Company B informed me they would like me to start January 5th.
What are my options since there is a delay between my last day at Company A and first day at Company B?
Is it ok to take time off in Canada shortly after Nov 28th and return January 3rd to start at Company B? Will I have any trouble re-entering at the border with my H1B Approval for Company B? What documents should I bring?
More generally, is there any time limit when I have to begin my new job at Company B provided I leave after the job at Company A to Canada?
Company A & B are very friendly to me and could do something else if necessary.
