I’m Jay Patil, currently in Richmond, VA, USA on H1B Visa/Work Permit, USA. My wife Sujatha is in India.
My passport has my wife name as “Sujatha desai”(This is her original name before marriage and the same name is used in Marriage Certificate too).
But, I applied my wife passport little later after changing her name to “Sujatha Jay Patil (replaced her last name with my name)”. Hence, my wife passport is in the name of “Sujatha Jay Patil” and husband name in my wife passport is “Jay Patil”, which is correct..
Since I'm going to India to bring my family to USA and my visa is expired (but I have petition valid for next 2 years), we will going to Visa stamping together.
My question here is, since the my wife name is different in my passport and her passport name, will there be problem in getting H4 Visa?
Any one has the similar scenario and able to get the passport for wife? If yes, what documents needs to be provided to cover up the name mismatch?
