How many days before I need to be in US before my visa expiry date?

Hi All,

I have a valid H1B visa from my current employer which expires by end of May this year.
Also I have valid petition(2014-2017) from a different employer.

My queries
1. Can I travel on the exisitng employer visa (after quitting) with different employer petition?
2. How many days before i need to be in US before the visa expiray date?

Visa, petition and I-94 are three different things. You can travel with your existing visa, and new petition till visa expiry date, but the thing that you have to keep in mind is that the Port Of Entry officer would most likely give you an I-94 only till your visa end date, even if you have a petition till 2017.
I-94 determines how long you can stay in US, so if you have I-94 only till May 2015, once you enter US you have to file for I-94 extension to USCIS by providing your extended petition.
