Hi Everyone,
After my marriage last year,I moved to USA on H4 VISA Valid from (Jan 2014- Nov 2016) .My husband is on H1 and has his I140 APPROVED .I started studying in a State university from Aug 2014 and traveled to India and converted my visa status to F1 in Jan 2015 Valid from (Jan 2015-Dec 2019)
I reentered with F1 visa stamped to US in Jan 2015 with visa valid until duration of status(D/s).I can only get CPT starting Jan 2016 and OPT after I graduate in May 2016.Now since the H4 EAD rule is passed I am confused whether should I convert to H4 and get EAD or stay on F1 VISA.
I have two valid visas stamped on my passport H4 AND F1 currently .My question is that
1) Should I convert to H4 AND GET EAD or remain on F1. What are the pros and cons of each?
2) If I decide to convert to H4 AND GET EAD , Can I travel to Mexico for 3-4 days and renter on H4 which is already stamped on my passport.Will there be any issues??
