Original I797 and I129 kept with Visa Officer

Hi,

I got my H1b visa approved on the 19th of December 2005 in the Chennai Consulate. I have received my passport with the proper stamping. However the visa officer didnot return me the original I797 and the I129. Any idea as how can I get back the documents from the consulate. Are you aware of anybody facing a similar problem ?

I highly solicit your advice. I will only be able to contact the Chennai Consulate on 27th December.

How did the visa officer taken all your documents? Have you used the drop box facility ?If so, how many days they have taken to return the passport after dropping the required docs?
