H4 Arrival Without I-797 as I-797 Left At Consulate

Hi,

I've following queries.

1. Can H4 dependents arrive to USA without their original I-797. They do have copy of their and mine (H1 holder's) I-797.

2. How can we get I-797 back from Consulate? It was given to Consular who took it for verification but didn't return and my spouse didn't remember to ask for it.

3. How can and how soon we get duplicate copy of H4 I-797?

I believe extension request was applied for your dependents while they were in US, and the approval of it resulted in their own I797.

1. Their I797 pretty much ceased to hold any meaning when they left US. So while re entering US, all they need to show is valid visa and your I797, no theirs.
2. As I said you need not have it, copy should be enough for future references.
3. You dont need it.
