H1 Extension after I140 approved and cap met

Hi ,
My I-140 is approved and 6 years cap is about to meet , now H1 extension has been filed in march.
How long does it takes for decision?
Is it legal to stay ,if I didnt get any decision though with 6 years completions ?
How many years does the USCIS approves?

H1 Extension can take a few months, also USCIS has currently suspended premium processing for extensions so you may have to wait for a few months.
It is legal to stay as long as extension applied before I-94 expiry.
As for number of years of approval it would depend how long your employer requests for and how long they can show the job validity (typically three years if employer shows enough work).
