Urgent: Travel after H1B Approval

I am on an H4 visa now. My future employer will file for my H1B in April '06 and I expect to get my H1B approved by May/June '06. The earliest work start date will be October '06.

I plan to travel to India in July and return in August. Can I get H1B stamped in July and re-enter US with the same H1B visa in August. I am confused because my H1B will be valid from October 1st and I am not sure if I can use it to enter US in August.

Please let me know.

I think if you intend travelling on the H1B visa, you will be allowed at the port of entry only 10 days prior to 1st Oct.
