H1 Visa interview appointment query

I got my H1 approved in 2013 and started working( it was valid till 09/16)
My employer recently filed an amendment and got approved ( but it is valid till 02/16)

Now I am going to India for stamping. Now when I schedule my appointment , it is asking for petition number. I assume I need to give the petition number of the amendment.

The point of filing an amendment is to get something corrected. Why would you enter your old approval notice number in DS160 when you have a recently approved one? Always go by your latest petition approval.
