H4 to H1 : Information required

Hi,

To give you a background.

My husband is working on H1B and I am on my H4. I have taken a 1 year leave from my company in india which has also applied for my H1 when i was on leave. My H1 got selected in lottery this year and currently waiting to be approved.

Question:
1. Will I require to go back to India for my H4 to H1 transfer or stamping?
2. If no, what all documents I require from my company to start working here assuming they get a project for me.

First thing is to ask the company if the H1 was applied as change of status or is applied as consular process.
