  • H4 and then L1A Visa

    Hi,

My husband works in New York. So last week I have applied for Depended Visa to join him.

But I also have an onsite opportunity from my company to work in New York and the company is ready to apply for my L1A next month.

Please advise if me getting Depended visa just a couple of weeks before applying for L1A would create any problem in clearing my L1A interview.

    You advise is much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Sreelatha

No issues. But it is just a waste of time and money. Let us say you apply for H4 and get it approved. Later in a week or two you apply for L1. The first thing they will do is cancel your H4 visa before deciding whether to grant you L1 or not. It is advisable that you apply for your L1 visa first. If that gets approved, then all good. If not, you can apply for H4.
Not a legal advice. Use of this information is strictly at your own risk.
