H4 visa query - urgent plz

Hi all,

I am H4 and want to start taking tuitions at home, but the problem is that I am not sure if I can legally do it or not?? I mean is it okay for me to put on fliers around my neighbourhood and advertise about it and get paid thru personal checks or cash? It will be a kind of at-home thing and I will be self-employed so no need for SSN etc.

Please help me out on this because nobody that I know seems to know anything about it.

Anybody under dependent visa is not allowed to work in US as long as they don't get their work authorization. Receiving personal checks as compensation would invite tax consequences while on this status.
