  • Indian Citizen, H1 B re-stamp in Australia

    Hello,

my H1B(previous employer) expires in Oct 2015. I have new I797-A till Nov 2017 from my current employer. I have been with my current employer since Oct 2012. My family live in Australia (elder bro and sis in law and are Australian citizens). I had plans to visit them this Oct. Will I be able to stamp my H1B in Melbourne. I only get 2 to max 3 weeks vacation. I work for a fortune 500 company. My previous company, current company and my education are all in same field.

Background- completed my MS in US in 2011 and I have been on H1 since Dec 2011. I did not have any issue travelling to and from Aus in 2013 and I have not traveled to India since then. Currently my I140 for GC is also in process. Please help/advise.

    Thanks,
    Abhilash

Yes, you can apply for your H1B visa while you are in Australia.

      Hi!
I was wondering if you applied for H1-B visa stamping at Australian US consulate? if yes, can you please share your experience.
I am planning on visiting Australia as my family had Immigrated there. my case might be little different than yours as it will be my very first H1 B stamp. I was on H4 before.

Your response will be much appreciated.

      Thanks
      JJ
