Employer Address Change - H1b Amendment

Hello -

I am posting for a friend.

His H1b was filed by a consulting company. During filing they used employer address as YYYY , San Jose, CA in his petition. Now they changed their location to YYYY, San Jose, CA. But LCA is procured for WA location while filing and he was intended to work in WA all the time.

From the time of H1b approval he is with the same end client in WA, and work location is same, job responsibilities are same and also not much difference in the pay rate which is specified during LCA procurement.

Now he planning to visit home country and in process he needs to get Visa stamping. While submitting DS160 he noticed employer change of address from is mentioned in petition and he is not sure if he needs to get his H1 amended?

Employer's address change doesn't need a H1B amendment. If the address in the approved LCA has changed (work location) then an H1B amendment is required. If your friend has the client location as the primary work location and the employer's address as the secondary work location, then an amendment is required.

I see 2 sections in LCA, Place of Employment 1 and Place of Employment 2. Under 1 Client location is mentioned and no change to this location from the time of LCA procurement and under 2 employer address is mentioned and this is changed and the change is with in the same county and state. Do amendment required?
