L1 to H1

Hi All,

I came to USA on L1B. my spouse also joined me as L2 and later on got EAD.

Now i am changing my status from L1 to H1. i know H4s can not get EAD and can not work legally.

My question is what will happen to status of my spouse after change of my status?
Will his EAD be invalid? or will he able to continue work with his EAD although my status becomes H1.
Do we need to apply for change of his status, if my status changes from L1 to H1?

hi,
If the primary beneficiary's status changes from L1 to h1B, then the company has to also file for the change of the spouse's status from L2 to H4. The spouse is dependant on the status of the primary beneficiary, that is you. Your spouse will not be able to work on a H4.
