Can anyone guide on what questions maybe expected on the SOW or client letter at Chennai consulate . This is the first job and first time entry into the US. There are no paystubs and may take a month or 2 for the project to take off due to delays.

They can ask if you will work directly for the employer or for a client of the employer at the Client's work site. If you answer that you will work for the client, then they may ask for a client letter. If you do not have the client letter, then you should at least have a copy of the SOW. If you have neither of it, then the VO can issue a 221g.Not a legal advice. Use of this information is strictly at your own risk.

Thank you so much for the response. The client letter is getting ready however the project may be delayed if there is no work to start for more than a month is it considered a illegal to stay in US even if the H1B visa gets approved and entry to the US happens without further glitches.

Once you enter U.Sin H1B visa, you should be working and getting paid. Irrespective of whether the project is getting delayed or not, the employer should pay you as per the approved LCA. Or you will go out of status on H1B. If the project is getting late, then you can enter U.S when the project is ready for you to begin.

**** offer letter
It is disheartening to see / know of a case where the person paid money to get a offer letter and is also able to produce a **** client letter with connections in the US. Is there a place to report the same where appropriate action be taken or the system takes care of it for the most part. Thank you in advance for any responses to this I understand it not a expected of any to make a response.

Not sure what you are trying to ask. If you have a legitimate reason to complain about your H1B sponsor, then you can do so with DOL. Btw, paying for H1B is illegal.

Thank you for the response. Just wanted to clarify I have taken the valid path but know of a acquaintance who preferred skipping the.right path and paid to get it done. if there is a place to report in india I would only because it makes it harder for the legitimate guys to be get a fair chance.

Unfortunately you cannot report anywhere in India. You can write to the consulate, but not sure how effective it will be. Official complaint to DOL will work. But you should be able to prove what you are claiming.
