H1-B cap exemption

Dear Sir/Madam.

This is regarding information on H1-B cap exemption for new visa.

My first H1-B visa approval was from Sep-2007 to Oct-2009. And got this stamping done on my passport. I travelled on this visa on 12 July 2009 and then filed for extension in Oct. 2009.

My extension was approved for a period until Apr 2012.

However I travelled out of US in Mar 2010 and never returned to US since.

Considering that I am within the 6 years period from my visa expiry, am I eligible to apply for a new visa with another employer under cap exemption?

In my opinion you would remain cap exempt only till March 2016 (within 6 years of last held h1 status).
