I am currently on a student visa and have applied for my OPT. I will be graduating in May. My employer wishes to file for a H1B on April 1st however I might get a better offer from another company sometime soon. I wanted to know if Employer A files for my H1B and if I decide to join employer B, can I cancel my H1B before my status changes from OPT to H1B. Does my status automatically change to H1B on October 1st or can I ask the employer to withdraw my application before October 1st. Can the employer withdraw the application if I get selected or withdraw it if my application is still pending
