H1B extention with a gap

My H1B extension was recently approved. I see that the new petition is valid from 19-Dec-2015 to 02-Jan-2018(same dates on new i94). My last petition was valid from 06-oct-2013 to 29-Sep-2015. What about the status between 30-Sep-2015 to 18-Dec-2015? Is this a type from USCIS? Do we need some change from USCIS on my new petition?

Cant say if it was a mistake by USCIS or by your attorney. I would suggest asking the attorney first.

I checked the i129 application and it says the extension was requested from 23-Aug-2015 to 30-Jul-2018
