H1 and H4 Extensons

Hi ,
I have applied for the extension process for me H1B and for my H4 dependents. Present visa got expired on March 04th 2016. However its been 4 months VISA is with USCIS and its under process. In such situation can my Spouse and kids can travel to India. Please suggest?

There is no bar on travelling out of US. They would need to get themselves a new visa in order to be allowed re entry.
