Can I have both H1 and H4 visa

My spouse is in US. I am working for a company in India and I have an approved H1B (not yet gone for stamping) and I will be applying for H1B amendment.
I am not sure when I will be travelling to US on H1B due to project requirements
In the mean time I am planning to visit my spouse in US on H4 visa for a short period.
I have my H4 stamping interview next week.
Could you please clarify on the below
1. Will going for H4 stamping affect my approved H1B?
2. Whether my H4 will get cancelled when I go for H1B stamping?
