  • Gap in I797 approval dates

    Hi,

Please help or advise on my case.

    i94 Admit Until Date: 10/04/2015
    Previous i797 Dates: 10/01/2012 to 09/24/2015
    New approved i797 Dates : 04/26/2016 to 05/03/2018
    i94 in new i797 Dates : 04/26/2016 to 05/03/2018

When my extension was in process I am in US. My previous H1 visa/i797 expired on 09/24/2015

I received my Extension approval very late and it is showing validity from 04/26/2016 instead of 09/24/2015.

Is this a normal case ? Should I be worried about my stay from 09/24/2015 till 04/26/2016 as I do not have valid i94 for this time period?

    Regards,
    Praveen

One of my friend got stuck in admin processing at Delhi consulate for the same case. He went for drop box, then called for interview. Visa officer still didn't approve his visa and after 15 days in admin processig he got the visa stamped. I would suggest getting this corrected before you travel to India for visa stamping.
This is just my opinion, not a legal advice.
