You mean to say that the I797 that came in as the H1 approval notice , did not have a I-94 date at the bottom? If yes, then either the employer did not request for it or USCIS did not approve it. You should plan to leave before your current I-94 expires, if I-94 already expired, leave US and re enter on a valid H1.

yes.I applied my h1b after i-94 expired. my question is why h4 got i-94?
