Document Information regarding H1B

I have got H1B approved and before I go for stamping looking for some information.

I married last year and I do not have a marriage certificate but I do have album and invitation card.

As of now I am going for H1B, not H4 as I do not have her name on my passport as well.

I have been reading a lot and it was not mentioned that the marriage certificate is mandatory if you are not going for H4.

But again, I am not really sure how to go with that, any advice will be really helpful.

Your spouse will need marriage certificate in order to get H4. You can apply at office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate in whose jurisdiction the husband or wife resides on any working day.

That's what I have heard/read that if you are going alone i.e just for H1B stamping you do not require marriage certificate.
