H1 B Stamping date scheduling issues in US consulates in India

My wife and I are on H1B visa and need to schedule a visa interview appointment. We have been trying to schedule for dates in India (New Delhi and other consulates) and have paid the fee already but the website that is used to schedule the interviews has serious glitches and inconsistencies. The available dates keep moving back and forth. I talked to the customer care center for the website and the person there mentioned that the website has been experiencing software problems for the last 4 months and they are trying to resolve them but they dont know when the issues will be resolved. As of now the first available date for visa appointment is in February which is ~5 months away. Has any one else experienced similar issues? If you have please share and also suggest what can be done. I need to get visa stamping done within this year as I need to start travelling for work in january 2017 outside the US for work. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
