7th Year on H1, 7 Months Validity, should i travel ??

Hi,

I work in a University, in Science field. My H1 is valid till June 2016 and my Visa Stamp expired last year. Am going to India and get my visa stamped again. Will it be problem if i travel on 7th year of my H1.
I already got my I-140 approved and my employer is going to file for 3 year h1 extension in Feb 2017 based on my I-140 approval.

In 2012 i went to Canada for interview and also visited India (early 2015). This time i am worried if its safe to travel and get visa stamp as i have only 7 months left on my H1 and also will by I-140 approval will pay any role in my stamping ?

Can someone please guide me, if you have gone through same situation and also let me know risk involved in travel. I am Single will that effect too ?

Till when is your current I797 valid?
