Change the Consulate for Interview
Hello All,
I have this situation and would like to consult with you to get your input to proceed further. Here is where i'm so far.
1. I have submitted DS 160 by selecting Chennai Consulate
2. Created profile and paid the interview for 2 persons for H1b / H4b
3. Tried to schedule an interview in Chennai for April, but April slot is not opened yet (in fact it open only till March 2017)
4. BUT, all other consulates in India had opened slots for April, May etc.. Only Chennai hasn't yet
5. Since I cannot miss my travel date (ticket booked as I have a family function in April) I was thinking change my Consulate to Hyderabad while booking the appointment
Questions / Grey area to me:
1. Is it possible to book my interview in Hyderabad consulate while my DS 160 mentioned to Chennai
2. If I create a new DS 160 (another option I read online) and use that to schedule an interview in Hyderabad, what will happen to the interview fee I paid already. Does that link with the change?
Did anyone go through this situation, Can someone please help me to understand how to manage this? Thanks!
