Dependent Visa - EAD

Hi Everyone,

Can you tell us how long will it take EAD apporval once my wife moves to US.

I am moving to US next month on H1b Visa and she will be in Dependent H4 Visa.
She has 5 years of experience in IT and I dont want her to loss her knowledge.

Came to know that using EAD she can work 20 hrs in a week as part time.

For H4 to get EAD, your I140 needs to be approved first, for I140 approval, your employer needs to file your Green card for permanent stay in US. If employer starts GC immediately, your spouse can get EAD within 8-12 months.
