H4 - I539 Filing

Hi, I am working for Company A on H1B visa in US which is valid till July 2018. My dependent spouse has a H4 visa stamped from A valid till July 2018 but she is in India. Now I am planning to change job and company B is going to file H1B transfer/extension. My question is do we need to file I539 for my spouse's H4 also at the same time even though she is not in US. Can I539 be filed for dependent visa extension in this case?

Can someone please confirm?

I539 is filed for Ext while in US. As she is outside US all she needs is to have your latest I797 and paystubs while entering US.
