H4 VISA Interview Help.

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for a wonderful site. It really helps people in need, as I am.
I came to US in Dec 05 and my wife has got a interview date on Apr 27 at the Chennai consulate.

I would like to have as much as help you can do.
The things I would like to know are like -

1. What supporting docuemtns she should carry?
2. What kind of questions will be asked to her?
3. What to say and what NOT to say in the interview?

Am scared of this Interview as she has applied after me and she does not have my name on her Passport because she applied before we got married.

Please help me.

Hi,

I am on H4 visa right now. My husband is on H1. So as far as H4 goes, interview is very simple. They will ask your wife following types of questions:
Where does your husband works?
Are you going to settle there?
show your marriage album?

Just make sure you dont lie to consulate. H4 is very easy.

For supporting document, see the same site for H4 documents. Also, its not a problem that your wife does not have your name on her passport. As she should carry the marriage certificate.

Hi Nag,

As far as i know, for Non-immigrant visa you never say that you are going to settle there, the best answer for your wife could be - "No, I will stay in US till the term of my husband's H1B ends"

I hope its clear.
