Hello experts!
I started my H1B in October 2016 with company A on the East Coast. The Company HQ established a West Coast company which is an affiliate of Company A. HQ would like to assign me as the incorporator on the Article of Corporation as well as the Director on the Statement of Information of this West Coast company. HQ Legal informed that as long as the position is a director, and not the CEO/Secretary/CFO, and as long as I am not under this West Coast company payroll, then all is completely legal. Then my service to this West Coast company would be deemed voluntary. Need to know if this is good and my rights since I don’t want to create unnecessary problem for my H1B visa. Thanks a lot!
