Travel while H4 extension is approved but do not yet have the new I-94
Hello Everyone,
I've got my H4 extension approved a couple of days back per the USCIS website. However, I've not yet received the hard copy of my approval notice (I-797) through the mail and it might take a few more days. My old I-94 is valid until March 31, 2017.
I need to leave for India on an emergency and wouldn't be able to wait for the new I-94 attached to my approval notice. Therefore, I was just wondering if it's OK for me to leave the US now without being able to submit the new I-94 copy during my departure from the US. Would it cause any issue while appearing for the H4 visa stamping in India/at the port of entry while re-entering the US?
