  • Left US so out of H1-B status; can I return as a visitor now?

    Hi All,

I had an H1-B visa but December 2016 I decided to move back home to England. I would now like to take a holiday to the us and go and visit some friends. I never did anything when I left the US; I just quit my job, packed my bags, and left.

Is there anything I need to do before returning as a visitor? I don't want to fly all the way out there and be denied entry or anything like that. Any information you can provide would be very helpful, thank you.

    Cheers,

    Joe

Done. Was just a little concerned that the ESTA application said that it does not guarantee that I will be allowed in the country, just that I will be allowed to fly. Don't want to get there and be denied entry because i didn't file some form after I ended my stay on H1-B visa.

No visa/document gives you the right to enter the US. It will be up to the officer at POE to let you in and how long to allow your stay.
Just my opinion... Use at your own risk...
