Background: worked at ivy-league US university on H1B as postdoctoral researcher for 2.5 years. Then transferred to another university for a tenure-track assistant professor position. The new university transferred my H1B visa, valid till Feb 2020. I am now traveling to India to get my H1B visa stamped since it expired around 10 months ago.
Questions
1. From the official website http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/in-niv-typework.asp# I can see I am required to carry my 1040 and W2 for as long as I have worked in the USA. I will carry these.
However, I can not help but wonder if any one has actually been asked to show these? If so, please share your experience.
2. My offer letter says university will be filing my EB1B green card. Thus clearly I am intending to settle in the US. Do I still need to show strong restoring connections with India?
