H1 to H4

Hi, Please help me to find answer of this. I am on H1 B Visa with Validity Sep 2018, My Spouse is also on H1B with valid status till 2021, In case something goes wrong with my amendment can I move to H4 immediately without leaving country, the day we shipped/request for COS change are we eligible to stay?

Yes, I believe u can change status without leaving the country. You have to do it before you H1B expires.
