Do I need a translation of a US university diploma issued in Latin?

Hi! I'm an employer applying for a visa for an employee. They attended university in the US but their diploma is in Latin. The school provides an unofficial translation. Does the employee need an affidavit/official translation of the degree? Thanks in advance!
