Re-enter US with Valid visa expiring within 20 days of planned re-entry

All,
I have a valid visa till 31st-May-2018, due to personal emergency I have to visit India for 2 weeks. I am planning to return to US on 12th May 2018.

Question -

Since I am not going for Stamping, is it safe to re-enter US within 20 days of Visa expiry?
Just a note - I already have an approved H1 extension which obviously I will carry with me at PoE.

I have seen multiple threads on this so just a little confused on the exact scenario.

Any help with regards to this is appreciated.
