How much in advance can we pay MRV?

I will soon be traveling to India from US. My H1B and my wife,kid's H4 have expired, so we plan to get our Visa stamped in this trip. I filled the US Visa appointment forms online, and it gave me pop-up that we are eligibile for dropbox. Next step on the account page is for me to make the visa fee payment visa NEFT, and I beleive whenever we next go to India, I will jst need to drop my documents for visa stamping.

In case of interview waiver(dropbox) is there some time limit by when we need to drop our documents after making the online payment? I think there are about 2 months before I go to India, so is it fine if I make my payment now?

Any knowledge about this aynbody? I have made the us visa fee payment and got the receipt number(it is May right now), and I will be visiting India only in August. I hope it should be fine for me to drop my papers in Aug at dropbox location in Delhi?
