I 94 Issue

Hello,
I am on a H4 visa, the last time I traveled to India was in 2015, the I94 was valid till 2016. I had no idea about the importance if the I 94. I have valid H4 approvals but the I 94 is not valid anymore. Will this be a problem if the current H1B petition for extension post I-140 is denied?

The laest 94 is what matters. Did your H4 extension approvals come with their own I94s? If yes, they take precedence over the one yo got while entering the US, since they were issued afterwards.
