Travel while H1B RFE Pending

Hi All,

I'm currently on OPT stem extension which is valid until Feb 2020. I had applied for my H1b this year and it's on the RFE stage, I would need to travel to India at any cause on Dec 15th this year. Would it be okay to travel to India stay there until I get a decision, if Approved, ask my company to mail the h1b documents to India, get it stamped and then return? If its rejected, then re-enter US with my already existing OPT stem visa?
