h1-b Visa for 6 years

Hi,
I am on H1-B Visa and it's effective upto nov 2006. I cam e to US in 2000. So visa is not going to extend after 6 years.
My questions are
1) If I go to India stay there for 1 year and can I get H1-b visa for 6 years, if I apply for visa in the year 2007

---- You will have to get a H1B petition approved by an US employer for the year 2007 (period of approval is between you and the employer, genrally 1-3 years). Only after you receive the approval notice you can apply for a visa for the period of validity mentioned on the I-797

---- NO, you cannot get a H1-b visa for 6 years
