Hi I recently got an approval for my H1 (h4 to h1).
----> I wish to know what is the next thing I should be doing in order to start working.
---->How long does it take to get a SSN?

H4 - H1

I recently got an approval for my H1 (h4 to h1).
----> I wish to know what is the next thing I should be doing in order to start working.

---- You should be having a I-94 attached to the bottom portion of your I-797 that enables you to maintain your status within US and also apply for SSN

---- You may start working at anytime. However, you have to wait a certain period of time before you start getting your pay check. If you were on H4 then you will know the details from your spouse who must have been on H1

---->How long does it take to get a SSN?

It takes 2-6 weeks. If you are lucky you will get it within 2 weeks, if not be patient
