H1B extention help

My H1B Visa is expiring on June 16th 2007.
I-94 is valid till June 26th and Passport validity till 2013.
I'm going to India for vacation on April 15th 2007 and will be returning back on May 15th 2007.

1. When should i submit the documents to my employer for H1B extention/revalidation? Is it good to do it before going to India or after returning back from India? Suggest me the best option
2. How long will it take to get it processed via normal processing?

1. Either way is fine. But better to do is sooner than later.
